Linz | 2nd ASSITEJ International Meeting
From 21-29 June 2013 the biggest annual artistic gathering within the field of theatre for young audiences will take place in Austria! The 2nd ASSITEJ International Meeting will be an artistic gathering for people in theatre for children and young people from all over the world to meet, interact, and develop new creative opportunities.
ASSITEJ Austria in conjunction with the international theatre festival SCHÄXPIR
invites artists from around the world to Linz. With the working topic "Facing the Artist" the International Meeting assembles over 40 (inter-)national theater performances of all genres. Seminars, discussions and workshops are dedicated to different aspects and topics such as music- and dancetheatre.
In collaboration with artists and researches from all over the world the meeting will emphasize the essential questions: In which categories do today's artists think and work? Between didactic and pedagogic claims, entertainment and "spectacularisation" - where are the artistic perspectives? All these questions will stir up controversy and open up diverse perspectives to talk about theater as art.
As part of the 2nd
ASSITEJ International Meeting organized by ASSITEJ Austria and the International Theatre Festival SCHÄXPIR, ASSITEJ’s Next Generation Project
will continue. The program is dedicated to young and emerging artists from any country, interested in the practice of theatre for young audiences and international collaboration. As a result of an open call, participants from countries such as Austria, Romania, China, Korea, Switzerland, Ireland, Norway, Australia, India, Sweden, Poland and elsewhere have been selected to travel to Linz for an intensive workshop and performance programme.
