New Zealand On Air

NZ On Air is an independent government funding agency. They invest in local content, across television, radio, music, digital media and community broadcasting. Since their formation in 1989, local content on New Zealand airwaves has increased dramatically. On average in New Zealand around 11,000 hours of local content airs on TV, with about 20% of NZ music on the radio, and a huge range of Access radio stations. In addition to funding public media content they have also created an Industry Development Fund to support targeted content and professional development. NZ on Air support a very wide range of content and projects for different media audiences. Applications for funding are considered regularly throughout the year.
