Talents Tokyo 2022 for filmmakers and producers

Talents Tokyo 2022 is a talent development and networking programme that will bring together 15 upcoming filmmakers and producers from East Asia and Southeast Asia during the 23rd TOKYO FILMeX, 31 October to 5 November 2022

Selected participants will receive lectures from film experts who will share their professional experiences. Each participant will bring one project in development, which the four main experts and other local industry professionals will analyse on aspects such as directing, producing and investment viability.

The participants will publicly present their own project, which will be eligible for the Talents Tokyo Award. As such, this programme aims to inspire promising filmmakers to develop their voices and become the “Next Masters”.

Entry requirements include the following: 

• East Asian or Southeast Asian nationality or residency
• Fluent in English 
• Have not participated in past editions of Talents Tokyo 
• Have not made more than 1–2 feature films

The programme provides return airfares from East or Southeast Asia to Tokyo, accommodation and per diems.

The programme will be conducted through the supervision of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Arts Council Tokyo (Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture) and the Talents Tokyo Organising Committee, in cooperation with Berlinale Talents and in collaboration with GOETHE-INSTITUT Tokyo.
