New Zealand | Earthskin Creative Residencies
The Earthskin Creative Residence in New Zealand seeks applications from diverse range of “creatives” to invigorate a wider nourishment and sharing of ideas and practice of the Arts. Creatives including; Artists, Potters, Sculptors, Musicians, Scientists, Designers, Performing Artists, Philosophers, Writers and Poets…
During the months from February to November, residencies are available for 4 weeks duration (with a possibility of extension). Other properties on offer via Earthskin are at Piha, Wairarapa and Coromandel, subject to availability.
The resident will develop a particular body of work at Muriwai Earthskin with a clear expectation of achieving an exhibition output.
The resident is required to either offer; a public talk on their work, a workshop, mentor a local artist, organise a residency Exhibition or participate in collaborative workshops with the local community and schools. A Koha (gift) of a piece of work, at the completion of the Residency is part of the exchange.
Phone/ Internet and Electricity and cleaning costs are to be paid by the Resident the total is $450.
Travel and transportation costs, subsistence and material/production costs are the responsibility of the artist.
The Earthskin Environmental Residency is also offered (for 1-3 months period), same deadline.

Muriwai is located on the west coast of Auckland, New Zealand. 15 minutes walk to the Muriwai beach. A sacred space, the main house is nestled inside a valley of ancient bush, offering an introspective flavour. The house has been created as ecologically as possible, and is magical in quality and care. Earthskin Muriwai operates on permaculture principles, capturing rain water, composting all organic material, developing food gardens, worm farming and minimising all waste.
