Japan | K*MoPA Young Portfolio 2020 - call for photo submissions

Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts  (K*MoPA) in Japan announces the call for 2020 Young Portfolio, inviting submissions from photographers under 35 years worldwide. Works selected will be acquired for the museum's collection.

Entries must be sent to Japan with special delayed deadline to take account of international mail restrictions.

Deadline for entries: 31 May 2020

Young Portfolio is a program organized by the Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts (K*MoPA) to support young photographers from around the world by exhibiting and acquiring their works for our permanent collection.

Anybody under the age of 35 is welcome to submit their works. We are looking for works by devoted photographers who are passionate about their creative efforts.

It is not a contest in which people are only eligible to win a prize once. Multiple submissions may be made up until the age of 35. We hope that by selecting works by the same young artist on a regular basis, we will help build their confidence.

Young Portfolio is unique in that it invites the wider world to recognize the true value of these young artists' abilities while simultaneously preserving their work for posterity.

Special Measures Relating to the Delay and Suspension of International Mail Due to the Global Spread of COVID-19 Virus

As a result of the delays and/or temporary suspension of international mail resulting from the spread of COVID-19 virus, the Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts has decided to introduce the following special measures regarding entries for the '2020 Young Portfolio'

1. Photographers residing in countries where international mail delivery to Japan is possible (as of April 15)
With both domestic and international mail expected to suffer long delays, the final date for entries has been extended from April 15 to May 31, for this year only.
Applicable to: photographers living in countries outside Japan and the 126 countries listed on the website below (as of April 15).
Special measures: As stated in the participation requirements, all works should be submitted in print form.
Please register on the website and dispatch the work(s) by May 31.
If you forward the package tracking number to us by email at ypweb@kmopa.com when it is dispatched, we will await its arrival even if it does not meet the May 31 deadline.

2.Photographers residing in countries where international mail has been halted (as of April 15)
