The application deadline for the third edition of the ETC European Theatre Academy (5-9 July) in Avignon has been extended until 31 May. The academy offers master classes and workshops for theatre directors, managers and administrators, touring and theatre production managers.

Participants and costs

The program is open for approximately 15 participants, a mix of colleagues selected from ETC member theatres and independent theatre makers who are invited to apply for participation. There is no attendance fee for the European Theatre Academy. The ETC member theatre participants will also receive free of charge tickets to a selection of performances of the Festival d’Avignon. Each participant (through her/his sending institution) is asked to cover own expenses related to accommodation, travel and subsistence.

Goal

Equipping young theatre makers from both public theatre institutions and the independent performing arts sector with know-how and skills to internationalize their work environment, professionalize their international competences, and position their work in the international performing arts scene in Europe and beyond. The focus of the academy is to provide an overview on existing and proved cooperation forms and opportunities for international collaboration, considering both artistic and practical administrative and financial aspects in the European context, embracing questions of funding and support, as well as production, touring and accessing foreign theatre markets.

During the program

Together with leading personalities and institutions in Europe, the Academy will offer emerging theatre managers and producers an important moment of reflection and exchange and a platform for professional networking. Participants of the European Theatre Academy are asked to bring concrete collaboration proposals and international project ideas that will be discussed and further developed as part of the master classer, under the mentorship of the European Theatre Convention.

In case of being selected as a participant to the ETC European Theatre Academy, participation is binding, and it requires personal presence throughout the entire time of the program.
