The Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) is calling for entries to its 38th edition of the festival. Organised by the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society (HKIFFS), the 38th HKIFF will be held from 24 March to 7 April 2014. HKIFF is Asia’s oldest international film festival and a major platform for world cinema. Its programme comprises features, documentaries, shorts and animations divided into 6 sections.

The 38th HKIFF will accept submissions till 31st December 2013 for its 6 sections:

Young Cinema Competition - open to filmmakers with their first, second or third features with cash prizes awarded by jury

Documentary Competition - open to documentaries running 60 minutes or longer with cash prizes awarded by jury

Short Film Competition - Open to all films under 15 minutes duration with cash prizes awarded by jury

Global Vision - new works including special programmes and tributes

Indie Power - new independent and avant-garde works

Reality Bites - new documentaries
