Australia | International Relations Grants Programme with Japan and Korea

Call for individuals and organisations interested in exchanges between Australia–Korea and Australia–Japan to apply for the Australian government’s International Relations Grants Programme (IRGP) 2022–23. 

IRGP grants support professional, community and institutional linkages between Australia and its partners on contemporary issues. There are a number of foundations, institutes and councils working between Australia and Asia, which have their own grant rounds for applicants based in Australia and Asia. There are currently two rounds open. 

Australia–Japan Foundation (AJF) Grants

Key priority areas of the AJF include culture and education and this grant round they will prioritise programmes across any one of the three cross-cutting themes: youth; gender, diversity and inclusion; and innovation.  

Grant details

  • Grant application amounts range from AUD 10,000 to AUD 40,000 per year 
  • Co-contributions from applicants and other parties strengthen an application 
  • The maximum grant period is three years
  • The grant can cover costs such as flights, accommodation, travel, communication and translation, venue hire, advertising and production costs (including freight and artists’ fees) 

Eligibility

Australian residents, organisations, consortia and government bodies, as well as Japanese citizens and organisations are eligible to apply.

Australia-Korea Foundation (AKF) Grants

Key priority areas of the AKF include cross cultural collaborations, and applications for activities that would strengthen cooperation between Australia and Korea to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic would be welcomed.

Grant details

  • Grant application amounts range from AUD 5,000 to AUD 40,000 per year
  • It is anticipated most grants will be between AUD 15,000 and AUD 30,000 per year
  • Co-contributions from Korean partners and other parties strengthen the application
  • The maximum grant period is three years
  • The grant can cover costs such as flights, accommodation, travel, communication and translation, venue hire, advertising and production costs (including freight and artists’ fees)

Eligibility

Australian residents, organisations, consortia and government bodies, as well as Korean citizens and organisations are eligible to apply.
