Australia Council Leadership Program 2020-2021 call

Calls are open for the Australia Council Leadership Program 2020-2021, dedicated to transforming the sector’s knowledge, skills and capabilities by supporting emerging and established leaders. It is divided into three strands: Arts Leaders Program (mid-career to established), Future Leaders Program (emerging) and the International Leaders Program which facilitates applications from eligible countries (see guidelines) to join either Arts Leaders or Future Leaders.

Applications are invited from a range of art forms from across Australia and selected countries in the Indo-Pacific region (including Indonesia, India, China, Malaysia, Philippines, Viet Nam ... see guidelines for full eligibility list).

The Australia Council Leadership Program is for mid-career to established arts leaders with over ten years’ experience in the sector. The program is open to arts leaders working within an organisation, independently or in community.

The Arts Leaders Program is a professional development opportunity, which brings together a mixed cohort of 20 Australian and 5 International participants to take part in a twelve-month program from April 2020-April 2021.

The Australia Council Arts Leaders Program is dedicated to transforming our sector’s knowledge, skills and capabilities by supporting established arts leaders of diverse art forms from around Australia and the Indo-Pacific. 

The Arts Leaders Program is designed to transform our sector’s knowledge by developing skills and capabilities of our established practitioners. The program brings together a range of practitioners to engage with and develop the future of the arts. The Arts Leaders Program is a personal and professional development opportunity – it will enhance your skills and capabilities, develop your networks and provide a platform for growth.

The Future Leaders Program is dedicated to transforming our sector’s knowledge, skills and capabilities by supporting emerging arts leaders of diverse art forms from around Australia and the Indo-Pacific.  The Future Leaders Program is for emerging leaders within their first ten years’ experience in the sector. The Future Leaders Program is a professional development opportunity, which brings together a mixed cohort of 20 Australian and 5 International participants to take part in a twelve-month program from May 2020-May 2021. Future Leaders also have the opportunity to complete a 4-week secondment with an organisation of their choice.

The International Leadership Program invites applicants from Indonesia, India, China, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, The Philippines, Vietnam, Fiji and Samoa. Applicants may decide to join either the Arts Leaders Program or Future Leaders Program, depending on their background and experience.
