Spain Moving Images Festival 2018

The 3rd edition of the Spain Moving Images Festival takes place in Madrid 22-30 June, a film festival focused on emerging filmmakers from Asia organised by AFIAS, the Asian Film Industry Association in Spain and Latin America.

In 2018, the Spain Moving Images Festival  cooperates with several institutions from Asia including Japan Foundation Madrid and several institutions in Spain. Five 5 Asian film professionals have been invited to attend a familiarisation trip to Madrid and join a networking event with AV professionals from Spain. 

The programme includes Asian classics, feature films, short films, animation, experimental and video, with a special programme focus on cinema from Japan. The festival is celebrating 150 years anniversary of the friendship treaty signed between Spain and Japan in 1862 with screenings of recent and young filmmakers cinema from Japan.

On 24th May ECAM, the School of Cinematography and Audiovisual of Madrid and AFIAS signed a collaboration agreement aiming to increase the visibility of cinema and audiovisual media from Asia in Spain.
