Media partnership with culture360: International Forum on cultural policy | Kazakhstan
culture360.ASEF.org is pleased to be media partner of the UNESCO Office of Almaty, Kazakhstan, for the upcoming Forum on Cultural Policy and Management (27-28 November 2018). Organised in partnership with the Public Foundation Cultural Dialogue, the Forum will bring together representatives of the ministries of culture, NGOs, national experts from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan as well as arts professionals from the Central and Southeast Asia to discuss art management, cultural industries and cultural policies trends with a focus on central Asian countries.
The Forum aims to raise awareness about the 2005 UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. The Convention provides a holistic framework to strengthen cultural industries through a variety of indicators related to its four goals: supporting sustainable systems of governance for culture; achieving a balanced flow of cultural goods and services and increasing the mobility of artists and cultural professionals; integrating culture in sustainable development frameworks; promoting human rights and fundamental freedoms. The UNESCO 2018 Global Report Re|Shaping Cultural Policies will be launched also launched during the Forum.
As part of the event, ASEF will present ASEF Unplugged, a meet-and-greet event series for sharing information and ideas about the state-of-play of the arts sector in the Central Asia region and the trends and opportunities for setting up regional connections to pursue international collaboration initiatives.
