UNESCO - call for experts to join Expert Facility on 2005 Convention
UNESCO is launching a call for expression of interest for the renewal of itsaimed at supporting capacity development initiatives for the implementation and promotion of the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
The Expert Facility acts as an international pool of recognized experts (independent consultants, academics and researchers, governmental officials and civil servant, cultural operators, managers of cultural institutions or associations, etc.) that have a relevant experience in designing or implementing policies to support cultural and creative sectors.
Applicants may be:
Government official/civil servants
Managers of cultural institutions or associations
In line with the global Priority Africa and Gender Equality strategies of UNESCO as well as the commitment to equitable geographical and gender balance, experts from Africa, Arab States, and Asia‐Pacific regions as well as women candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Language Proficiency Applicants should demonstrate excellent spoken and written English and/or French language skills. Knowledge of additional languages, in particular languages of potential beneficiary countries and/or other UN official languages, is an asset.
Professional experience and expertise
proven knowledge/experience of the 2005 Convention
solid experience of carrying out technical assistance in developing countries
professional experience of minimum 10 years in the field of cultural and creative industries (see guidelines for more information on professional experience required)
Applicants applying to be part of the UNESCO Expert Facility should ensure their availability to participate in an introductory training workshop scheduled to take place during the week of 11 February 2019 in Paris, France.
