Cyberfest 2011 | International Cyber Art Festival
CYBERFEST is Russia’s largest annual new media festival that builds opportunities and relationships between the international art world and Eastern Europe. The 2010 edition was held at St Petersburg’s top institutions: The State Hermitage Museum, Peter and Paul Fortress, KURYOKHIN MODERN ART CENTER, POLIGRAF Art Hall, Borey Gallery, and the Gallery of Experimental Sound.
This year the event gathers over 80 artists from 12 countries. A city-wide event, CYBERFEST’s programming is housed across iconic institutions and emerging art venues throughout St Petersburg. From visual arts to music performances to interactive installations to films to lectures to children’s workshops - all programming is entirely free of charge.
CYBERFEST is organized by a non-profit organisation called
CYLAND that supports collaborations between international artists/theoreticians/pioneers working in social media, new technologies and experimental media. It houses the largest archive of Eastern European video art online, runs a residency programme, and organizes exhibits around the world.
