Submit a proposal for the Walking Visionaries Awards, developing new steps to liveable communities, as part of a sustainable city. 30 award winners will be invited to participate in the global discourse at Walk21 conference in Vienna, Austria.
The Walking Visionaries Awards highlight new ideas, big and small, for fulfilling the potentials of walking for liveable communities. The programme supports individuals and organisations from across the globe, from different professional backgrounds and cultural contexts alike. Deadline: 30 April.
Participants in the Walking Visionaries Awards are united by one thought: that walking is an integral element of a good, just and sustainable city. Share your ideas and projects to win a Walking Visionary Award and participate in the global discourse on walking and liveable communities!
Award categories:
– Advocacy, Campaigning and Social Projects
– Walking 2.0 and Future Mobility
– Walking and the Arts
– Fashion and Walking Gear
– Planning and Design for Liveable Public Space
The winning submissions receive a free ticket to the foremost global venue to discuss walking and liveable communities: The Walk21 conference in Vienna, Austria in October 2015.During the conference, award winners will meet leading voices in the field of active travel, future mobility and resilient urbanism. The “Walking Visionaries” will enrich their professional knowledge, expand their networks of peers and extend the scope of their work. Moreover, selected award winners will actively participate in the Walk21 Vienna conference programme as presenters of conference formats such as speed dating, lectures, round tables or workshops.
The winning submissions will be published in the Walk21 Vienna conference documentation. Currently there is funding available for 30 award winners.
