UNESCO MONDIACULT 2022 call for side events

UNESCO calls for expressions of interest from organisations, private entities and professional networks for side events to the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development – MONDIACULT 2022 in Mexico 28–30 September 2022.

In the run up to the World Conference, UNESCO is driving an inclusive and multi-stakeholder engagement, mobilising a wide range of actors and partners involved in the broad cultural spectrum, from policy, planning, and implementation perspectives at the global, regional and local level.

Proposals for side events will be submitted to the Coordination Committee of the Conference for validation. All the selected side events will be provided visibility on the World Conference website and other UNESCO communication channels, where appropriate.

Requirements

  • The topic and objectives of the proposed side event should be in line with the objectives of the World Conference to advance culture for sustainable development
  • Proposals can be submitted by international or regional intergovernmental organisations, non-governmental organisations, foundations and private sector entities, as well as professional networks
  • In view of the limited duration of the World Conference, proponents for side events are strongly encouraged to maximise impact by engaging a diversity of partners
  • Proposed side events can take place virtually or on-site and proponents will be responsible of securing the space for a proposed on-site side event
  • All expenses related to the organisation of the proposed side event will have to be borne by the proponent(s) of the proposed side event
