Spain | Travel grants for CIMAM’s 2022 conference
The International Committee for Museums and Collections of Modern Art (CIMAM) is calling for contemporary art curators, directors, and museum professionals to apply for the travel grant to attend CIMAM’s 2022 Annual Conference.
The conferences is titled The Attentive Museum Permeable Practices for a Common Ground and it takes place in Mallorca, the Balearic Islands, Spain from 11 to 13 November 2022.
The aim of the CIMAM Travel Grant Programme is to support the curatorial and research development of applicants through their attendance at the Annual Conference where the most current concerns on contemporary art practices are being discussed. About 30 travel grants will be awarded.
Grants are addressed to modern and contemporary art museum directors and curators in need of financial help to attend CIMAM’s Annual Conference. Researchers and independent curators whose field of research and specialisation is contemporary art theory, collections, and museums, and most of their field of professional activity is related to the functions of an art museum, are also eligible.
While professionals of all career levels are encouraged to apply, priority is given to junior directors and curators (with less than 10 years of experience).
The grant will cover:
- Conference registration (including sessions, visits, networking, workshops, etc.)
- Travel expenses (round trip economy flight, train, or ferry tickets)
- Becoming a member of CIMAM for the period awarded
Funds do not cover transportation to/from the airport, visa expenses, travel insurance, and registration for the optional conference tours.
