Trauma & Revival project call - open to submissions from Europe and Russia

Call to artists in Europe and Russian Federation (visual artists/creative professionals, fluent in English and born after 1982) to apply for residencies and workshops to be held in Moscow, Latvia, Italy and Poland, as part of Trauma & Revival, a project co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union (2015-2018).

“Trauma & Revival” project offers an ambitious journey that showcases and reflects upon the ties between the East and the West during the Cold War and today. Between 2015 and 2018, six partners will engage one another in the interest of international cooperation, bringing together artists, intellectuals and citizens from across the continent. “Trauma & Revival” offers a stimulating platform to revisit a shared history, change today’s perceptions and imagine new forms of cultural dialogue. It echoes the current context in Europe. Through exhibitions, artist residencies, video programmes, workshops, conferences, roundtables, and a digital timeline, this project will raise meaningful questions about our current relationships in order to move towards a common future.

Coordinated by kim? Contemporary Art Centre and Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto (UNIDEE) in cooperation with the Centre for Fine Arts - BOZAR, the residencies in Rīga (Latvia) and Biella (Italy) propose workshops, lectures, master-classes, discussions, encounters, debates, and open studio events gathering emerging artists and researchers from Eastern and Western Europe, including Russia. A range of interdisciplinary tutors and presenters will follow, support and contribute to the creation or learning process of the participants during their residencies.
