Switzerland | Young Stage 2024

Young Stage is calling for application from young circus artists for the 15th edition of the young Stage festival, held from 2 to 6 May 2024 in Basel, Switzerland.

Young Stage is the biggest international circus festival in Switzerland. The mission of Young Stage is to offer a platform to young professional artists from all over the world to present their work, to get the contemporary circus developed and presented in general, to enable networking and to inspire the next generation. 

The festival is a competition and as well as a platform where young professional artists can present their work in a contemporary circus field. There are 6 public shows every year in Basel. An international jury team consisting of experts coming from the fields of circus, show, TV and professional sports assesses the young artists. There are hundreds of applications each year. Many international show producers, directors, agents and bookers travel to Basel, to discover new talents at the Young Stage festival.

The participants have the chance to win several awards and engagements in  circus and show productions in Switzerland and abroad.

Important information

• Applications are accepted from artists who are not older than 27 years in May 2024.
• Artists that have already applied for one of the previous years but have not been selected can apply again.
• Artists who have already taken part in the festival may apply again but need to perform in another discipline.
• The maximum performance time is 6 minutes.
• Hotel and meals are free during the stay in Basel and travel expenses will be reimbursed.
• All applicants will be informed about a possible participation around mid-February.
