ESoDoc2013 calls for applications

None
ESoDoc2013 is calling for applications from African, Indian and European filmmakers, new media professionals and NGO representatives who want to develop social documentary projects suitable for the International Markets.

The aim of ESoDoc International is to present a “view from inside” Africa, India or Europe, a change of position in the narration of a specific story. As a metaphor, the framework could be described as a tree whose roots are placed in the cultural and traditional environment of the different continents, whose trunk represents all the technological aspects to express such culture (the art of story telling, PV and new media techniques) and whose branches are the “eyes”, the cameras, looking on the outside world.

SoDoc is primarily designed for intermediary and senior documentary filmmakers, authors and producers, who have acquired experiences both in producing contents with/for broadcasters (but still lack access), and are willing to extend their production possibilities to new sectors (i.e. the non-profit), new forms and new platforms (i.e. internet).
ESoDoc is keen to have among its participants NGO-communication representatives and professionals from the new media sector, who are eager to learn about new forms of storytelling, about combining creative documentary with social communication and advocacy intents. ESoDoc participants are committed to social themes, responsive to the new forms of audiovisual production and willing to develop their projects across a 360° spectrum.

The deadline for application is 14th January 2013.

The first session of ESoDoc 2013 will take place in The Hague in partnership with the Movies that Matter Festival.
