Call for Submissions: Asian Cinema Fund 2011 is now open!

The Asian Cinema Fund is committed to helping activate more independent film productions and to creating a stable production environment for Asian filmmakers through the three categories-Script Development Fund, Post-Production Fund and Asian Network of Documentary (AND) Fund.

The ACF 2011 is now open for submissions. All applicants can submit their projects only through the ACF website, http://acf.biff.kr. May 10th is the deadline for all projects.

ACF projects are supported through diverse funding programs such as <Breathless> (YANG Ik June/Korea), <Wonderful Town> (Aditya ASSARAT/Thailand) accomplished outstanding outcomes in various film festivals including the Cannes Film Festival, the Berlin Film Festival and the International Film Festival Rotterdam.

Recently, in the “2010 Independent Feature Post-Production Fund” selections, <Year without a Summer>(TAN Chui Mui/Malaysia) has been invited from A Window on Asian Cinema in 15th Busan International Film Festival and got remarkable attention from Tokyo Filmax and International Film Festival Rotterdam 2011.

Also, <Eternity>(Sivaroj KONGSAKUL/Thailand) was given the New Currents award in 15th Busan international Film Festival and awarded the Tiger Award at International Film Festival Rotterdam 2011, the Best Feature in Deauville Asian Film Festival and the Asian Digital Competition Silver Digital Award in Hong Kong International Film Festival.

<Re-Encounter>(MIN Yong Keun/Korea) awarded the Best Director in Korean Cinema Today: Vision of 15th Busan International Film Festival, and is given the Best Director, the Kodak Award, the Independent Star Award at Seoul Independent Film Festival 2010. Recognized its artistic quality, it is being successful at theaters in Korea as well.

The Post-production Fund is a coalition with Korean Film Council(KOFIC) and sponsored by Kodak Korea Ltd., Stareast Digital Lab Ltd., CJ PowerCast, Studio SH [Audio Post Production] and Wavelab STD.

The Asian Network of Documentary (AND) Fund is sponsored by Youngsan University, Dongseo University, Pusan University of Foreign Studies, Kyungsung University, Dong-eui University, Pusan University, Pusan Bank, ACP Company, BIFF supporters and Digital Contents Network Association(DCNA).
