Welcome to the new Chair and Vice-Chair of the ASEMUS Executive Committee

ASEMUS meeting in Sweden    Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities (Östasiatiska Museet), Wikipedia The 2011 ASEMUS executive meeting was held on the 8 October in the beautiful city of Stockholm at the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities (Östasiatiska museet). At the meeting, the new Chair and Vice Chair of the executive committee was decided and announced. On behalf of the ASEMUS members we would like to welcome Dr Kim Youngna, Director General of the National Museum of Korea as Chair and Fionnuala Croke, Director of the Chester Beatty library, Ireland as the Vice Chair. We look forward to exciting plans ahead for the network. On behalf of ASEMUS, we would also like to thank the previous Chairman Stephane Martin, President musee du quai Branly and Vice Chair Dr Choe Chong Pil, Director of Sejong University Museum, Seoul for their past leadership and continued commitment to the network.

Apart from the Executive meeting, the committee had the opportunity to visit the Mediterranean Museum, Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities and the fascinating Inca gold exhibition now on at the Caverns. Thanks are due to Sanne Houby-Nielsen, Director General and her team at the National Museums of World Culture, Sweden for the warm and wonderful hospitality extended to the EXCO members.
