Tokyo-Finland Exchange Residency Programme launched

None

HIAP, Tokyo Wonder Site, Sibelius Academy and the Finnish Institute in Japan join forces to start the Tokyo-Finland Exchange Residency Programme in Autumn 2011.

Tokyo Wonder Site is an art center dedicated to the generation and promotion of new art and culture from the heart of Tokyo. Tokyo-Finland Exchange Residency Programme is part of a larger effort to gain mutual understanding of differing cultural environments, and consider a new, shared culture together.

Sibelius Academy in Helsinki offers the selected artist a place in the Academy’s series of lectures enabling the artist to present the current project. The artist has also an opportunity to meet Academy’s professionals and students in Composition and thus create contacts with Finnish experts in the music field.

HIAP has several international exchange residency programmes that enables Finnish artists and curator to have a residency period abroad as well as offers residencies in Finland for artists and curators worldwide. Tokyo-Finland Exchange Residency Programme is one of them. The common aim of all the exchanges is to offer dialogue, collaboration and networking opportunities and to foster mutually beneficial cultural interaction between the participating countries and regions.
