The Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW), Indonesia’s main fashion event, is held annually to showcase Indonesian fashion design talents as well as burgeoning talents from the fashion and creative industry. Its goal is to establish the city of Jakarta as a global fashion hub. This year’s schedule of events promises a vibrant and diverse line-up of participants with over 150 local, regional and international designers who have confirmed their attendance. Several high-profile Indonesian designers who are participating this year include Biyan, Oscar Lawalata, Tex Saverio, Ghea Panggabean, Sebastian Gunawan and Sally Koeswanto. Contemporary interpretations of batik culture will be the highlights of several designers' collections. Jakarta Fashion Week is organized by the event management company Azura Activation, a subsidiary of Femina Group, a publishing company that has been active in promoting the Indonesian fashion industry through various editorial initiatives and events since its founding in 1971.
