Visitors to Residenzschloss Oettingen in Bayern, Germany will be able to have an overview of the diversity of Buddhist art over the 1,800 years in the exhibition 'Images of Lord Buddha: Buddhist Art in Asia'. Taking Gandhara and Mathura, the earliest centres which produced images of Lord Buddha in human form as a starting point, the exhibition shows the development of the depiction of Lord Buddha in Sri Lanka, China, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Burma, Laos and Cambodia.
