The Asia-Europe People's Forum (AEPF) will hold its 12th biennial People's Forum on 29 September to 01 October 2018 in Ghent, Belgium. AEPF 12 will tackle strategies on major themes which represent AEPF's hopes for citizens of Europe & Asia. The registration is now open.

"Building New Solidarities: Working for Inclusive, Just and Equal Alternatives in Asia & Europe"

On 18 and 19 October 2018 the 12th Asia Europe Meeting (ASEM12) will take place in Brussels hosted by the European Commission. Heads of State and Government from across Asia and Europe will meet to discuss their future priorities and plans. Similar to ASEM12, the Asia-Europe People's Forum (AEPF) will hold its 12th biennial People's Forum on 29 September to 01 October 2018.

AEPF12 will tackle strategies on major themes which represent AEPF's hopes for citizens of Europe & Asia:

  • Food Sovereignty and Resources Justice
  • Climate Justice & Just Transition
  • Trade Justice and Corporate Accountability
  • Social Justice for a democratic, participatory and transformative social protection
  • Democratization, Human Rights and Migration
  • Peace Building and Human Security

Progress towards the realisation of these People's Visions, or Alternatives, is at the heart of a way out of the multiple crises confronting people, states and institutions. The multiple crises, which have been caused by the policies of many governments, have generated increasing social polarization between states and peoples. These crises are exacerbating poverty, inequality, joblessness, intolerance and the raise of populism. We are increasingly experiencing corporations structuring and determining our lives and livelihoods. Many citizens are responding by developing local initiatives. AEPF is looking to encourage and strengthen cooperation and solidarity of these people's centred networks and activities.

AEPF12 will be an exciting series of interlinked dialogues, workshops, actions, policy debates and open spaces. You can be part of this in many ways: you can actively participate in the discussions and building of People's Visions, co-organize an event, and/or contribute human and financial resources. There will be a call for expressions of interest to organise workshops and events soon. Interested in joining us? Contribute your knowledge, resources or time to enable AEPF12 to be a success.

Save the date & discuss within your organisations how you can be a part of AEPF12. This is your forum!

Participants can now subscribe by filling the registration form on the AEPF-website.
