ThinkArts

ThinkArts – founded in 2013 in Kolkata, India – facilitates high quality, transformative arts events for children and young adults. They believe that regular creative experiences are essential for children to develop their imagination and emotional intelligence. 

ThinkArts has collaborated with over 75 partners across India and internationally to realise a diverse programme of literary, visual art, dance, theatre and story-telling events to children and young people in several cities across India. Since 2017, they have been curators of the annual Junior Kolkata Literary Meet and in 2019, they organised the first ThinkArts International Festival for Young Audiences with nearly 100 events held in Kolkata and 3 other cities. They have also presented Indian premieres of shows from Germany, Scotland, Wales, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Australia, Italy and Norway, and continue to conceive projects that promote local artists and initiatives in a collaborative spirit.  

ThinkArts also creates resources and support systems for other stakeholders in arts engagements for children, such as educators, parents and artists. As a response to the pandemic in 2020-2021, they commissioned nine digital performance works made for young audiences. Additionally, since 2020 they have provided grants for artists to create an original digital piece for young audiences.
