Royal Thai Pavilion in Sweden

Ragunda Valley has the only Royal Thai Pavilion of its kind outside Thailand!

The Royal Thai Pavilion in Utanede, Ragunda is amazingly unique. Nearly 100 years after the visit by the Thai King Chulalongkorn Rama V in 1897, Thai representatives decided together with Ragunda to honour the king’s visit through erecting a spectacular memorial building right in the Swedish birch tree forest.

The King Chulalongkorn Memorial will be taking care of and communicating the life story of Rama V Chulalongkorn of Siam and show the commitment and hard work he did , which took him on many voyages around the world for his country to give Thailand a modern structure.

In the agreement “Joint plan of action”, signed by both the Thai and Swedish governments, the Thai Pavilion is recognised as a very important cultural meeting place for both Thai and Swedish persons.

The Thai Pavilion is both the past and the future. Here we can learn from history and create a new awareness and a meaningful future with the help of Thai stakeholders. We see a very promising path, and we look forward to the exciting collaboration with people from the heart of the Thai Pavilion.
