On the Move (OTM)

On August, 18th 2014 On The Move (OTM) received  news that it is not one of the networks selected for Creative Europe funding by the European Commission. While every challenge provides an opportunity, OTM now needs a period of re-thinking and restructuring. Starting from September 1st, 2014 there will be no permanent staff working for On the Move; basic activities will be carried out on a voluntary basis. OTM Board and members are going to search for additional and new funding to support OTM activities. OTM will try to keep sharing mobility funding opportunities at least until early 2015. Besides the website and newsletter, they can be reached on Facebook and Twitter; or email.

On the Move (OTM) is a cultural mobility information network with more than 35 members in over 20 countries across Europe and beyond. On the Move was set up by IETM, by then named the Informal European Theatre Meeting, nowadays designated as International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts. OTM's mission is to encourage and facilitate cross-border mobility and cooperation, contributing to building up a vibrant and shared European cultural space that is strongly connected worldwide.

Aims:

  1. To organise, coordinate and improve a cultural mobility information service that is free, transparent, accurate and user friendly, coming from an increasing number of sources and reaching an ever widening audience.

  2. To promote a concept of mobility that is respectful of social standards and environmental protection and that promotes cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue.

  3. To improve the capacity of OTM members to deal with various aspects of cultural mobility, through trainings, P2P sessions and meetings, where the expertise of each of the members can be shared and further enriched.
