Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture Myanmar
The Ministry of Union Cultures was established in 1952. In 1972 the Ministry was given its new name The Ministry of Culture, later to be named the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture. Its aims are the following:
- Allow freedom of faith
- For the purfication, perpetuation, promotion and propagation of the Theravada Buddhist Sasana
- Help out and participate in international religious affairs
- Emergence and prevalence of Myanmar traditional customs and culture
