Migros Museum for Contemporary Art

The Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst has been discussing the pressing issues of our time, since it was established in 1996, inspired by the approaches and works of international contemporary artists.

For the museum, contemporary art is a dynamic product of its time, facilitating a continuous exploration, from both forward-looking and backward-looking perspectives, of different cultural, historical and social contexts, as well as from a global perspective. They offer a forum for active, lively discussions about art in the context of social responsibility, thereby continuing to shoulder the commitment of Migros and its founder Gottlieb Duttweiler. Following in this tradition, they endeavour to reach an audience as diverse and wide as possible. Communicating and conveying information directed at different target groups, understanding their needs, and taking them seriously have been integral parts of their activities from the outset.
