Filmoteka - Narodowa - National Film Archive

The collection of film reels and archival materials assembled in Filmoteka is one of the largest in Europe. They were gathered over the decades with the help of foreign exchanges which made it possible for Filmoteka to retrieve 75% of Polish feature films from 1930-1939 – the institution most valuable collection of film reels which requires special care.

The statute tasks of Filmoteka Narodowa include:
● Preservation of the cultural heritage of Polish cinematography and chosen works of world cinema;
● Collecting all forms of historic film documentation and ongoing conservation and processing of the resources. This is done by highly qualified personnel consisting of 40 specialists who have many years of experience in the field of archive work.

The film catalogue includes about 15 thousand titles.
