ETNOFILM is an international biennial festival presenting films dealing with ethnography, ethnology and social anthropology in a wide sense of the term. The main goals of the event are:

- Raising awareness of the general public, film-makers and media about the cultural and social diversity of the human community and the necessity of its protection
- To encourage new productions on the above topics
- To promote these productions by giving awards
- To support  expert meetings and seminars during the festival

The festival is focusing on the diversity of the European continent, however the organizers can invite to the competition films from other countries around the world.
