British Council Italy
The British Council in Italy has been working in cultural relations since 1945 and we will celebrate our 70th anniversary in 2015.
Our operations in Italy are governed by a UK/Italy bilateral cultural convention signed by both governments in November 1951 and ratified in February 1953 under Italian Law 124 which also covers the activity of the Italian Cultural Institutes in the UK.
We have offices in Rome, Milan and Naples with a combined staff of over 100 who every year work with many thousands of Italians directly plus millions more online through our activities in English, Arts and Education and Society.
Our educational and cultural programmes and services are in line with the British Council's charitable objectives to create opportunity for people. Young people in particular benefit from our high quality language training and gain an international perspective plus useful skills that can help them develop their careers.
