Association of Symphony Orchestras and Choirs of the Czech Republic

The Association of Symphony Orchestras and Choirs of the Czech Republic – Asociace symfonických orchestrů a pěveckých sborů ČR is a corporation that manages the activities of the Association of Managing Directors of Symphony Orchestras in the Czech Republic and was founded in April 1996. Its members including the Czech Philharmonic Choir of Brno, are all professional ensembles with legal identities.

The function of the Association is to enforce the common interests of the orchestras and choirs of the Czech Republic, to facilitate mutual cooperation and support in solving working and artistic challenges, to maintain common principles amongst employers in order to fairly and effectively negotiate with trade unions, and to promote a vision for the public in terms of musical life in the Czech Republic.

The Association is member of the Union of the Association of Employers and closely cooperates with the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the Association of Professional Theaters in the Czech Republic and the Association of Artistic Employers PEARLE (Performing Arts Employers Associations League Europe), based in Brussels.
