Stanislav Libensky Award is a yearly award for young glassmaking artists. It is open to students of art universities around the world and presents work by selected artists in a prestigious exhibition at Prague Castle.

The competion is designed for art universities students allowing them to present their graduate works created by any glasswork technique. A part of the competition is the creation of printed catalogue of competition artworks and an exhibition in St. Geroge’s Convent at Prague Castle from September 20th to November 30th, 2012. Awards will be handed over at the Gala Evening and the exhibition vernissage at the Prague Castle.

The competition serves for an international presentation of young artists. The aim of the competition is to help with a development of glass art in the Czech Republic.

Stanislav Libensky is rightly considered the most outstanding Czech glasswork artist and pedagogist, referring to the fact that his work created in collaboration with Jaroslava Brychtova is presented in museums and galleries all over the world. Besides his work, he was teaching at Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, he was a director and pedagogist at School of Applied Arts for Glassmaking in Železný Brod where he also permanently lived and worked for most of his life.

CONDITIONS OF THE COMPETION

1. Stanislav Libensky Award 2012 is an international competition for students of art universities, who can present their graduate works this way (Bachelor or Master), created by any glassmaking technique.
