RawGround 2024/2025 short film showcase

RAW Moves is calling for Singaporean and international artists to apply for RawGround (RG) 2024/2025, a curated mini-showcase of short films to be launched at a screening session in Singapore in the first quarter of 2025. 

RawGround aims to nurture dialogue through the trajectory of widening perception of daily life. The short films are conducted by artists and practitioners of diverse disciplines, each reinstating the scope of aesthetics of the everyday.

A selection of 6 artists will work with RAW Moves to conceptualise and create two new short film-works per artist (5–10 minutes each), responding to this edition’s theme of “Balancing – The movement of consciousness”. 

The process

Selected artist-collaborators will be offered artist fees for the conceptualisation and creation of the two film-works. In the 6–8 weeks creative process, each artist will be collaborating with and supported by the artistic director and resident dramaturg to deliver two films. 

In addition to financial support, appointed artist-collaborators will be able to develop their portfolio, articulate ideas and enrich their creative processes through engaging diverse perspectives. This cultural exchange opportunity also offers visibility and chances to connect and interact with arts professionals and audiences from around the world.

The final vignette of films will be launched at a physical screening session in Singapore in the first quarter of 2025, which will includes artists’ talks and workshops. The extended event also offers networking opportunities with fellow artist-collaborators and local audiences. Digital access to the films will be provided on RawGround for two weeks.
