Malaysia | Southeast Asian Arts Residencies 2026

Rimbun Dahan is calling for applications from artists from and based in ASEAN countries or Timor Leste for the Southeast Asian Arts Residencies at in Malaysia, which will take place for two months between 1 March and 30 November 2026.
Rimbun Dahan is a private arboretum and arts centre offering a garden setting for artists to focus on their work. The residencies welcome visual and performing artists, as well as writers, who are interested in engaging with the centre’s Indigenous Southeast Asian garden, Malay heritage textile collection, or contemporary and heritage architecture.

Artists are expected to reside primarily at Rimbun Dahan during their stay, participate in one Open Studio Day, and visual artists leave one artwork for the centre’s permanent collection. Non-Malaysian residents must manage their own visa requirements.
