Lisbon | Arts in Society international conference - call for proposals

Call for proposals for 14th international conference on the Arts in Society, to be held in Lisbon in June 2019. The special focus of the conference is: Art as Communication: The Impact of Art as a Catalyst for Social Change

Proposals are invited for paper presentations, workshops/interactive sessions, posters/exhibits, virtual lightning talks, virtual posters, or colloquia addressing one of the conference themes. The wider themes are: Arts Education; Arts Theory and History; New Media, Technology and the Arts; The Arts in Social, Political, and Community Life; 

Final submission date 19 May 2019.

Founded in 2000, the Arts in Society Research Network offers an interdisciplinary forum for discussion of the role of the arts in society. It is a place for critical engagement, examination and experimentation, developing ideas that connect the arts to their contexts in the world – on stage, in studios and theaters, in classrooms, in museums and galleries, on the streets and in communities.
