India | bangaloREsidency for artists based in Germany

Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan Bangalore residency participants

Call from Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan Bangalore, open to artists living and working in Germany, to submit an art project to be realised during a Bangalore residency 16 October – 17 December 2022.

The residency is intended to be a platform for productive exchange between artists based in Germany and Bangalore’s cultural sector. It is designed with the idea that this initial experience can be followed up with return visits, and applications are especially encouraged from artists who are associated with an institution in Germany that can undertake a reciprocal engagement with artists from India. As such, each resident will be expected to interact with the local art community, to offer a fresh perspective and creative input from abroad.

What is provided?

The Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan will cover the costs of a return economy airfare from Germany to Bangalore and accommodation during the bangaloREsidency, in collaboration with the local host organisation.

The programme also offers a daily maintenance stipend and approved production costs.

Eligibility:

  • Artists living and working in Germany
  • Fluent in German and English
