French-Australian Cultural Exchange Foundation Resonance Grants

The French-Australian Cultural Exchange Foundation (FACEF) is launching ‘Resonance Grants — Enhancing France and Australia Cultural Journeys’, the inaugural grants programme dedicated to visual-arts exchange between France and Australia.

Organised by FACEF, a binational initiative created to strengthen artistic, intellectual and cultural ties between Australia and France, the Resonance Grants focus on promoting collaboration in the visual arts through exhibitions, artistic projects and curatorial research.

The programme supports two types of projects:

  • individual or group exhibitions and artistic projects affiliated with institutions presenting French artists in Australia or Australian artists in France; and
  • curatorial research trips enabling curators to deepen their understanding of each country’s art ecosystem.

Eligibility criteria

Projects must align with FACEF’s vision, mission and values. For exhibitions and artistic projects, applications must be submitted by non-profit artistic organisations (for example, contemporary art centres, museums, artist-run spaces, project spaces, art education institutions, research centres, or online curatorial/artistic projects), not by individual artists. Projects must be in the visual arts. Curatorial research trips may be submitted by curators directly, but must have a clear link to a specific curatorial or exhibition context (institution or major event).

Eligible applicants are France-based and French artists/institutions in Australia, and Australia-based and Australian artists/institutions in France.

Priority will be given to innovation and the creation of new works.

What is provided

Eligible projects may receive up to 15,000 AUD in funding.
