British School of Rome Residency 2026 for South Australian Artists

The Helpmann Academy is calling for applications from emerging South Australian artists to undertake the British School of Rome (BSR) residency in central Rome in 2026. This opportunity is available to graduates within 7 years of completing their studies from Helpmann Academy partner institutions.
The successful applicant will be allocated a studio space at the BSR, which includes accommodation, meals, and a working area. Running from April to June, the residency gives the selected artist the chance to develop their practice at the BSR, benefiting from the institution’s internationally renowned research facilities, artistic community, and expert knowledge.
Based in one of the most culturally rich cities in the world, this residency will allow the artist to immerse themselves in the culture and the artistic history of Rome.

Valued at 30,000 AUD, the opportunity includes a stipend to cover return flights, materials, freight and other travel-related costs.
