TEDxChiangMai 2014 takes place on 6 September 2014 on the theme of "Innovating Connections". Creative Chiang Mai is looking for speakers such researchers who want to share their ideas with a wider public, artists that are doing interesting project, activists, policy makers, social entrepreneurs, business people, and photographers. The focus is on ideas and research, not personal achievements, opinions, or disguised sales pitches. For one day, speakers and performers will share their ideas with a local, national and global audience. The previous edition of TEDxChiangMai had total live audience of 800 people (500 at the main site and 300 at satellite venues) and the recorded talks had over 30,000 online viewers within only 6 months. TEDxChiangMai will have simultaneous translation, seating for an audience of 600+, many interactive activities in the foyer, and post and pre-events. TEDxChiangMai2014 “Innovating Connections” will explore connections: connections between art and science, university and industry, art and community, science and art in education, Chiang Mai and the world, us and our environment, cities and cities, etc. (ธีมของงานคือ การสร้างความเชื่อมโยง อย่างเช่นความเชื่อมโยงระหว่าง งานวิจัยในมหาวิทยาลัยและภาคเอกชน ศิลปะและชุมชน ศิลปะและวิทยาศาสตร์ในการศึกษา เราและสิ่งแวดล้อมธรรมชาติ เมืองกับเมือง เป็นต้น) If you know someone who should be part of speaker line-up for TEDxChiangMai 2014, we would like to hear from you. Please take a few minutes to fill out this nomination form (in Thai or in English). Remember, talks can be in Thai or in English – we will have simultaneous translation. We are aiming for 20 speakers from Chiang Mai, the rest of Thailand and abroad. We prefer talks of a ca. 12-14 minute duration. Shorter is also interesting and the maximum is 18 minutes. Remember we are looking for ideas and they should be ideas that can be linked to our theme and topics. In addition to idea talks, we are also interested in performances, discoveries, artist who explain what they do, issue talks, and tech demos of new inventions. Talks can amazing and presented with high energy, but we also welcome serious and informative speaker styles.
