keyvisualThe 2015 Singapore Writers Festival celebrates everyone’s dreams, hopes and aspirations, with the theme, Island of Dreams. So, what is your dream? How does one make one’s dream come true? What do all the dreams add up to? What is the society you want to live in? The Festival poses these questions to writers and audiences this year, inviting them to look within and reflect. In 2015, the festival's country focus is on Indonesia: 17,000 Islands Dreaming and takes place 30 October to 8 November. One of Asia's premiere literary events, the Singapore Writers Festival is one of the few multi-lingual literary festivals in the world, celebrating the written and spoken word in Singapore’s official languages – English, Malay, Chinese and Tamil. This year, the Festival will be housed in the Empress Place district amongst historic buildings such as The Arts House, The National Gallery and the Asian Civilisations Museum. It takes place 30 October - 8 November. Check out the programme, including speakers from Southeast Asia and beyond. Read this article on the festival programming from the Straits Times
