Research Fellowships at the Asian Civilisations Museum | Singapore

The Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) in Singapore, an ASEMUS member, has launched the 2019 edition of its Research Fellowship Programme. Post-doctoral scholars are invited to apply for fellowships in the following areas:
  • Material studies
  • Material culture studies
  • Museological studies
  • Trade
  • Singapore community heritage
  • Peranakan / Mixed heritage research
  • Cities/Urban studies
  • Intangible cultural heritage
The ACM values multi-disciplinary work, cross-cultural studies, and research on ongoing projects at the museum. Research related to the collections of the ACM is preferred.

Requirements

Applicants should have a PhD, or if in the final stages of their dissertation, should have a PhD by the time they begin their fellowship if it is awarded to them. Applicants should have completed the bulk of their field work on their proposed projects, and be able to write and present papers in English.

Nature of the grants

Fellowships may have a duration of four months (semester) or nine months (academic year). Beneficiaries will be provided with a monthly stipend for the duration of the fellowship. Overseas researchers will also receive a one-time grant as a relocation allowance.

Applications need to be submitted in electronic format by 15 December 2018.
