Registration is open for participation in the 15th International CHIME meeting, which will be held at the Goetheanum in Dornach (Basel, Switzerland) from 24 to 28 November 2010. We look forward to a rich programme of papers, panels, concerts, films, workshops and poster presentations on the theme of 'Theory versus practice in the music of China and East Asia'. Since this event is held in conjunction with the Swiss festival Culturescapes (devoted this year to China and Chinese music), we are able to offer participants a fine array of performances, including Hani, Qiang, Miao, Naxi, Lisu and Mongol singers and instrumentalists, the Quanzhou marionette troupe, the Minguett String Quartet (music by Tan Dun, Wang Yue et al), and singer Gong Linna and her Chinese ensemble (who will also present another workshop, after her succesful contribution to last year's CHIME meeting in Brussels).  The meeting further hosts an informal qin gathering and a workshop on instrumental ensemble music. For on-line registration, please go to https://www.goetheanum.org/3882.html The Conference will take place on the extraordinary compounds of the Goetheanum, an international platform for exchange in the realms of spirituality, art and science, located on the outskirts of Dornach, a village situated some 5 km outside Basel.
