Memory! International Film Heritage Festival | Phnom Penh

The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), through its film website
film.culture360.org, supports the
MEMORY! International Heritage Film Festival between 1-9 June 2013 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The festival has been specifically designed to sensitise filmmakers and audiences to the
value of film heritage and the importance of film preservation and restoration in Asia and Europe. The first festival of its kind in Southeast Asia, this gathering of film professionals will combine screenings, workshops and conferences around the theme of film restoration.
ASEF’s support to this festival builds on its commitment to the preservation of film heritage in Asia and Europe, evidenced through support to projects such as
Raiding the Archives – which supported an extensive research of film archives in Asia and Europe in 2011.
Valentina Riccardi, Project Manager, Cultural Exchange, ASEF will present the organisation’s long history of support to Asia-Europe co-operation in the field of film at the Festival, and its pioneering website on independent cinema, film.culture360.org.
MEMORY! is organised by the
Technicolor Foundation for Cinema Heritage (France) in partnership with the
Bophana Centre and the
Cambodia Film Commission (Cambodia).
