ASEF LinkUp Roundtable at UNESCO MONDIACULT 2025 | Rethinking Cultural Diplomacy Together

Save the date! The ASEF LinkUp Roundtable, 'Rethinking Cultural Diplomacy Together: Perspectives from Asia and Europe' is happening next month in Barcelon, Spain.

  • Day & Date: Thursday, 25 September 2025
  • Time: 4pm to 6pm CET / 10pm to 12am SGT
  • Venue: In-person at Museu Etnològic de Barcelona, Spain

The roundtable is driven by conversations from the third edition of ASEF LinkUp | Asia-Europe Cultural Diplomacy Lab 2025 held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia earlier in June. Organised in partnership with Casa Asia, the roundtable is a side event of the World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development - MONDIACULT 2025

This roundtable hopes to open up space for essential reflection on:

  1. Adopting a cultural rights based approach in international cultural exchanges: what supports or hinders participation of artists and cultural professionals on the international stage?
  2. Collective responsibility and cultural diplomacy: how can we bring together the diverse ecosystem of stakeholders, from governments to cultural institutions, networks, civil societrt organisations, independents and more, when engaging in cross-border activity?
  3. Representation: how can international exchanges honour the voices of under-represented communities and bring them into the global conversation of international cultural cooperation?

More details of the roundtable will be made available soon. Save the date and join us in-person in Barcelona!
