Recording | Asia-Europe Cultural Relations: A look ahead

The recording of the Public Forum Asia-Europe Cultural Relations: A look ahead is now available for viewing.

This final session of Recalibrating the Compass Roundtable Series was opened to the public and saw a group of experts in the cultural sector from Asia and Europe discussing challenges and approaches in Asia-Europe cultural relations, based on findings and recommendations of the consultation process developed throughout 2022.

Taking a step forward from the roundtable sessions recommendations, this public forum addressed urgent themes for the arts and culture sectors including the call for change in the current challenging geopolitical context and the need to invest in capacity-building, awareness-raising and advocacy to support a more balanced cultural cooperation.

This Public Forum is the culminating event of Recalibrating the Compass Roundtable Series, initiated by ASEF in May 2022 in celebration of its 25th Anniversary. The series aims to examine current challenges and identify ways to develop new, more relevant and resilient forms of support for Asia-Europe cultural collaboration. Ultimately, we will try to address how we can best support cultural cooperation from ASEF’s unique position as a bridge-builder between Asia and Europe.
