monumenta_pageexpo Final week (till June 18) for the monumental installation entitled 'Empires' at the Grand Palais in Paris by Chinese contemporary artist Huang Yong Ping. Since 2007, internationally renowned contemporary artists have been filling the Nave of the Grand Palais with masterful works designed for the occasion. ACA-IMG_3057-768x576 After Anselm Kiefer, Richard Serra, Christian Boltanski, Anish Kapoor, Daniel Buren and Ilya and Emilia Kabakov, Huang Yong Ping, the true founder of contemporary art in China, who now lives and works in France, takes up the challenge in 2016. Founder member of the avant-garde artistic group 'Xiamen Dada' in China in 1986, Huang Yong Ping (b.1954) is one of the first Chinese contemporary artists whose work was exhibited in the West, on the occasion of the renowned 'Magiciens de la Terre' exhibition at the Centre Pompidou in 1989.  His presence in Paris for the opening of the exhibition coincided with the events of Tienanmen Square. The artist decided not to return home and took up residence in France where his international career was launched.
