Theatre and Cinema Information and Education Centre (TCIEC)

The Theatre and Cinema Information and Education Centre is an NGO founded in 1997 by theatre critics Audronis Liuga and Ramunė Marcinkevičiūtė as well as film critic Živilė Pipinytė. Its goals are to initiate and put into practice innovative performing arts projects that encourage artistic and infrastructural changes of the culture life in Lithuania. The activities of the Centre are targeted towards new creative ideas and developments of independent performing arts organisations in Lithuania.

Audronis Liuga Production is the production brach of the Theatre and Cinema Information and Education Centre. ALP producing and distributing nationally and internationally innovative performances directed by Lithuanian as well as some international directors. The performances produced by ALP toured in Latvia, Estonia, Russia, Czech, Poland, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxemburg, Montenegro.

New Drama Action
NEW DRAMA ACTION is international new dramaturgy and theatre festival the purpose of which is to present the most interesting phenomena of contemporary drama and theatre and to encourage the production of new writing in Lithuanian theatres. Since 1999 the NDA has presented an innovative new British, German, French, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Finnish, Flemish, Latvian, Lithuanian drama and theatre.

NDA introduced performances by internationally acclaimed directors Arpad Schilling, Grzegorz Jarzyna, Kristian Smeds, Alvis Hermanis, Jan Lauwers, Johan Simons, Kornel Mundruczo and companies Needcompany (Belgium), NTGent (Belgium), Rozmaitosci (Poland), Krétakör (Hungary). NDA initiated and produced as well as co-produced performances based on innovative new national and international plays directed by leading as well as young Lithuanian directors. NDA in collaboration with acknowledged Lithuanian and international artists realize an artistic workshops focused on research of a new ways of making theatre and reflecting an important social issues.

In the online database of contemporary Lithuanian plays one can find the presentations of plays by some major young playwrights and information about them.

TCIEC initiate and implement educational publishing programmes design to record and analyse contemporary Lithuanian as well as international theatre. By the special series of books and digital publishing we strive to deepen a knowledge of contemporary theatre.


The Centre realises its projects through the co-operation with Lithuanian and international artists, performing arts networks and organizations. Activities of the Centre are supported by Lithuanian State as well as international funds.
